While it's clear from Genesis 5, Genesis 10 (also known as the Table of Nations) and both books of Chronicles that Jewish people value their lineage, the actual word "lineage" appears only once in Luke 2:4 of the King James Version.

Lifespans from Creation to the death of Joseph are obtainable; but, beyond that point we have to glean from world events.

Note that some references state a male descendant as a "son" even if one or more generation had been skipped. Also, names are often repeated generations apart or may not even be part of the same lineage. For example, there is a Saul in the Old Testament who was Israel's first king and there also was Saul of Tarsus who became known as the apostle Paul in the New Testament.

In cases like the 12 tribes of Israel, lineage comes from the same male, but different females. After a sufficient amount of humans existed, polygamy (marriage to more than one woman) was no longer needed to populate the Earth, but was nevertheless practiced by some.
