Medes resided in the region of modern day Iran. According to the map from the Table of Nations page, they seem to have descended from Madai who was one of Japheth's sons as stated in Genesis 10:2 and 1 Chronicles 1:5.
The only reference in the Bible to a town in Media was in Ezra 6:2 when scrolls were found in Ecbatana that authorized the rebuild of the Temple. King James called the town Achmetha.

• Isaiah 13:17: "Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it."

  9:1 (King James): "In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans".
