Listed among the major prophets, Isaiah the son of Amoz, was listed 13 times by name. At the start of the book in his name, Isaiah 1:1 stated that Isaiah prophesied about Judah and Jerusalem during the reigns of Judah's kings Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah (with the threat of the Assyrians pending).

Isaiah first appeared three times in 2 Kings 19 verses 2 & 20 and 20:1. The last 2 references in
2 Kings happened during Hezekiah's reign.

The next three mentions of Isaiah can be found in 2 Chronicles 26:22 then again in chapter 32, verses 20 and 32. 2 Chronicles 26 was during Uzziah's reign while chapter 32 had King Hezekiah.

Throughout the Book of Isaiah, the prophet himself was only named in Isaiah 1:1; 2:1; 13:1; 20:2; 37:2, 20 and 38:1.
