The country we now know as Egypt was settled by Mizraim, one of Ham's sons. Early Egyptian leaders called themselves the title of pharoah.

It rose to power as they capitalized from the range of chariots which would be considered an equivalent to a modern day automobile with limited seating. Other early people that used the chariots were the Hittites (in modern day Turkey) & the Mitanni (Mesopotamia). At one point, the Hittites and Egyptians clashed in the Middle East.

Like the Mesopotamian fertile crescent, the availability of fresh water allowed good farming to the extent that the Egyptians produced enough to feed the entire region during the famine where Joseph preserved the family line of Jacob. This was made possible by the agricultural development of granaries.

At the end of Alexander the Great's empire, the Greek empire was divided into the Ptolemaic & Seluecid kingdoms.
