Seir appears in Genesis 36:20-30. His parents aren't named. Esau's descendants (Edomites) appear to have been occupants of a hill region named after him. Seir was called a Horite. Horites are mentioned during the rescue of Lot in Genesis 14 then again in Deuteronomy 2:12, 22. A grandson of Seir's is named Hori. It's unclear if the Horites were possibly descendants of Hori. Only one other person named Hori shows in Numbers 13:5; but, that was in the time of Moses. Most references of Seir are geographic references named after him.
