After being rescued from prison by an angel, Peter sought refuge with Mary, the mother of John/Mark in Acts 12. He was mentioned in verses 12 and 25. John accompanied Barnabas and Saul in Acts 13:5, then returned to Jerusalem in verse 13. In Acts 15:36, Mark was said to have deserted them in Pamphylia; but, in verse 38 Barnabus took him to Cyprus with him.

Colossians 4:10 stated he was cousin to Joseph (called Barnabus by the apostles).

Paul forgave Mark for their prior disagreements to the point where he made this statement in 2 Timothy 4:11:
11. Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry.
