  1. The Benjamite father of king Saul
    Aphiah > Becorath (Bechorath in KJV) > Zeror > Abiel > Kish - 1 Samuel 9:1-2:
    1. There was a Benjamite, a man of standing, whose name was Kish son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Becorath, the son of Aphiah of Benjamin.
    2. He had a son named Saul, an impressive young man without equal among the Israelites--a head taller than any of the others.

    1 Samuel 14:51 said: "Saul's father Kish and Abner's father Ner were sons of Abiel".

    There was some confusion in 1 Chronicles about Saul's grandfather. Perhaps Jeiel in 1 Chronicles 8:29 and 9:35 could have been another name for Abiel.

  2. Merari > Mahli > Kish (after Solomon had become king) - 1 Chronicles 23:21-22:
    21. The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
    22. Eleazar died without having sons: he had only daughters. Their cousins, the sons of Kish, married them.

  3. Abdi > Kish (a later descendant of Merari while Hezekiah was king of Judah) - 2 Chronicles 29:12-14:
    12. Then these Levites set to work: from the Kohathites, Mahath son of Amasai and Joel son of Azariah; from the Merarites, Kish son of Abdi and Azariah son of Jehallelel; from the Gershonites, Joah son of Zimmah and Eden son of Joah;
    13. from the descendants of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeiel; from the descendants of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;
    14. from the descendants of Heman, Jehiel and Shimei; from the descendants of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.

  4. Another Benjamite, an ancestor of Esther - Esther 2:5:
    5. Now there was in the citadel of Susa a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin, named Mordecai son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish,
    6. who had been carried into exile from Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, among those taken captive with Jehoiachin king of Judah.
    7. Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother. This girl, who was also known as Esther, was lovely in form and features, and Mordecai had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died.
    ...
    15. When the turn came for Esther (the girl Mordecai had adopted, the daughter of his uncle Abihail) to go to the king, she asked for nothing other than what Hegai, the king's eunuch who was in charge of the harem, suggested. And Esther won the favor of everyone who saw her.

    Kish > Shimei > Jair > Mordecai - verses 5-6
    Kish > Shimei > Abihail > Hadassah (aka Esther) - verse 15
