The New Testament had 3 men named John - John the baptist, the disciple John and someone related to Annas, the high priest that only appeared in Acts 4:6.

29. As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew.
30. Simon's mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told Jesus about her.
31. So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.

The disciples after Jesus' resurrection - Acts 1:13:
13. When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James.

John's brother, James, killed by Herod - Acts 12:1-2:
1. It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them.
2. He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword.

John accompanied Paul, Barnabas and some others to Cyprus, then returned to Jerusalem - Acts 13:5-13.

James, Peter and John praised for their ministry to the Jews - Galatians 2:9:
9. James, Peter and John, those reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the Jews.
