In New Testament times, Galilee was a Roman-occupied territory where Phoenicians had settled. Galilee today overlaps part of northern Israel and Lebanon.
Jesus was raised in Galilee and began his ministry in that region.
Towns in Galilee include Capernaum, Bethsaida, Kedesh, Hazor, Chinnereth, Cana & Nazareth. Mount Tabor and Mount Moreh also resided within the region of Galilee.
The Sea of Galilee is stated in John 6:1.
